Enjoy 4-hours of training with the Hazardous Devices Unit (a.k.a Bomb Unit), learning about their training methods and equipment use, along with the day-to-day operations of the Fort Wayne Police Department's Hazardous Devices Unit.

The Hazardous Devices Unit responds to an eleven county area in Northeastern Indiana as the primary response team to mitigate explosive hazards, military ordnance and improvised explosive threats. It is also tasked with the response to any weapons of mass destruction incidents and performs multiple protective sweeps for the special events around the region. The Unit consists of personnel trained in a variety of special disciplines to meet the needs of ensuring public safety. Overseen by the Special Operations Deputy Chief, they work in conjunction with other specialty teams within the department and the region which they respond.
