Adeline
New Friendships - Friendship Manor
Adeline recalls going to stay with her sister during the terrible winter of 1936. They could not go anywhere so they quilted. Adeline has always enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and handiwork. When she would winter in Florida, she belonged to a quilting club. She also did several quilts with her daughter, Vicki; Adeline did a lot of hand quilting. She had quilted eight quilts, two very special quilts that she gave to her granddaughters on their wedding days.

Arliss
New Friendships - Friendship Manor
Arliss and her husband used to own a cabin near Cordova, IL. They also enjoyed going to Minnesota each year. After a flood at their cabin in Cordova, they purchased a travel trailer to go camping. They started out camping at The Ponderosa campground near Aledo. A few years later, they moved to a permanent site at the Road Runner Campground outside of Viola, IL. They would spend their weekends there. They enjoyed having the grandkids come to the campground. Many times, they would get up early and hit the yard sales in the area. Arliss really enjoyed sitting around the fire and visiting with other campers.
