The Greenway Foundation advances education, culture, and recreation for the South Platte River and the surrounding tributaries as a unique environment.

A $150 donation supports our outreach partnership with The New America School getting 54 kids on the water through 4 days of programming. The New America School is a credit recuperation program that empowers new immigrants, English language learners, and academically underserved students with the educational tools and support to maximize their potential and live the American dream.

This is a very unique partnership in that it consisted of:

• 1 day in their classroom to teach lessons from US Sailing's STEM curriculum. They measured sail area, built anemometers to measure wind, as well as learned about and tested buoyancy
• 1 day applying what they learned in order to build and race model sailboats on head-to-head PVC pipe race tracks.
• 2 days of sailing at the reservoir to deepening their understanding through experiential learning

With this in-class and outdoor immersion into sailing-based education, we were truly able to impact these youth and help them engage in fun, hands-on learning.

A $50 scholarship donation allows us to provide one participant from an outreach group a full day of sailing. This is a great way to make an impact on a child as most participants that come through our outreach program have never been out on the water.

Not only are you helping to provide an enriching experience through sailing, but you are also truly broadening the horizons of local underserved youth.
