KAYAKING WITH ICEBERGS AT SPENCER GLACIER via Train from Anchorage OR Girdwood
Experience the magic of Spencer Glacier via Kayak and learn about blue ice, up close and personal, on this full-day kayaking excursion! Enjoy a scenic train ride aboard the Alaska Railroad, then spend several hours paddling among the iceberg giants and hike to the face of Spencer Glacier. One goal is to touch an iceberg! The Spencer Whistle Stop and Glacier are located just South of Portage Valley, and Turnagain Arm, in the Kenai Mountains and the Chugach National Forest. It is entirely off the road system, so you will ride the scenic Alaska Railroad, from Anchorage or Girdwood, with breathtaking views of glaciers and towering alpine peaks along the way.
