My name is Kiley Mihalik and I am a junior at Morristown High School. Last Summer was my first time volunteering with Assumption Parish to go on this trip and I am so excited to go back again this year. This week spent helping others allows us to meet new people and try new things, creating tons of memorable moments. This amazing experience is one that I will always remember and cherish.
For the past two years, I've had the amazing opportunity to participate in our parish's Appalachia trip. In these two years, I've learned so much about our faith, as well as been able to help someone in need. I would really love to be back on the trip this year to help another person in need, as well as continue to learn about our faith and other people on the trip.
Going on Appalachia for the past 2 years has been the highlight of my summer and both times it has amazed me how much we accomplish in the short week. Appalachia not only lets all of us do something amazing but we are able to make great connections along the way. This trip has changed my life and I can't wait to come back for more summers.
I am a sophomore at Morristown High School. I run cross country and track and love to be outdoors. On the Appalachia trip, I am looking forward to the travel and the chance to work with others in my parish to make a positive impact in somebody's life.
After hearing my older sister and her friends talk all about their Appalachia trip and how it was the best part of their summer, I decided I wanted to do it too!! For years now I've wanted to find a way to give back, and I can't think of a more perfect way to do so. Knowing that I am going to play a part in building a family in need a home makes the trip all that much more exciting.
I would love the opportunity to take a week out of my long summer vacation to volunteer and help build a home for people who aren't as blessed as the rest of us. I've heard many stories on what an amazing trip it is and would really like to be of service to such a wonderful cause.

I'm really interested in participating in Appalachia and would love to take part in this trip. I already volunteer at habitat for humanity at the restore in Morristown so I think this would be a great way to get more involved. I would love to be able to help build homes for people less fortunate and do so with a supportive community. I think this would help me gain an understanding to the work that goes into building and potentially help me gain life long skills. Overall, I'd really like to take part in this trip so I could help others with my Church.

For years I've heard great things about the Assumption Appalachia trip. When my older brother came back from his first trip two years ago, he couldn't stop talking about how much fun the experience was. It was then that I realized that I wanted to go on the trip as well, not only for the fun but also for the opportunity to help someone in need. I am very excited for the chance to go on this trip this summer. I've heard enough about the trip and I finally want to experience it for myself. I believe this is an excellent opportunity to change someone's life, and I would really like to be a part of it.
I would like to help build homes for the less fortunate in Appalachia because knowing that I helped families achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life is the best feeling. I feel like this trip will overall open me up to so many great opportunities in the future as well.
Hi, I am julia and I am a junior at villa Walsh. I would love to get an opportunity like Appalachia so that I can help others who are less fortunate than I am. This trip would allow me to help out in a new way that is different than what I can usually do in my own community. An opportunity like Appalachia would allow me to help others outside of my community and improve my understanding of just how truly fortunate I am in my life. This trip would be able to teach me new life lessons and expand my knowledge of issues outside of my community.
I would love to participate in an incredible, humbling trip such as appalachia for many reasons. One being, dedicating time and effort to help those who truly need the help and prayers is something that i would love to experience. Understanding and realizing the importance of how truly fortunate we really are is difficult sometimes, so to actually build a house that would truly help those who are not as unfortunate as I am would be an incredible and eye opening experience.

This will be my first year on the Appalachia trip and of course I am looking forward to all the service hours. However, looking beyond that, going out there to build a house and seeing the family's reactions and their expressions of the final product would make me feel very satisfied. I'm looking forward to the trip and I'll send you the picture of my face in a separate email

I have friends who have participated in Appalachia in the past and they have all said the experience was eye opening. I would like to go through this experience myself and feel that I will be a better person at the end of it. I live in an environment where everyone has so much and it's easy to lose sight of what others are going through and needing. I'd like to make a difference in their lives.
My name is Kelly Pohan, and I am a sophomore at Morristown High School. I would like to be a part of the Appalachia trip as I've heard from others how great the experience is. I would love to be a part of the Assumption community and build a house for a family. I know that it will be hard work, but I can imagine the joy it will bring to that family. I know that the family and I will gain a lot and benefit through this experience.
I'm familiar with Habitat for Humanity where we donate items to the Restore in Randolph, NJ. When looking around at the Restore, I see customers, some that are less fortunate than others, picking up needed items for their families. I would like to extend my help with volunteering my time to make a difference for people that have real needs. Going as a group and working toward a common goal as a community will be a great experience along with building ew relationships during the trip.
I look at this trip as a way to give back to the community. As I am very fortunate, I feel like it will be a very humbling and rewarding experience to be able to help a family that is less fortunate. This opportunity to give back to the community, as well as being able to work with the group, make the Appalachia trip seem like an amazing opportunity and experience.
