About Friends Association
Friends Association for Care and Protection of Children is the oldest running child welfare agency in Pennsylvania. Founded in 1822 as a Philadelphia orphanage, Friends Association has always been dedicated to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children. In 1974 our organization moved to West Chester, PA and finally became Friends Association for Care and Protection of Children in 1982. Since then, our organization has worked towards preventing homelessness around the greater Chester County area. How do we accomplish this? Through four programs we are able to help families receive shelter in every stage of homelessness.
