Winner receives a 4 pack of either ballet or tap classes at the International Ballet Institute.

Ballet - Young dancers will study the fundamentals of classical ballet technique. They will learn and practice the 5 positions of the feet and arms, a dancer's correct posture, finger positions, pliés, tendus, chassés, early jumps, basic coordinations and musical phrasing. Children will learn the names of the great composers and they'll learn the stories of the great classical ballets (Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Swan Lake etc). Using their ballet vocabulary, they will act out scenes from the ballets while listening to the original orchestrated music.

Tap - In all of our Tap and Musical Theater classes students study and practice tap technique while also learning the songs, stories, and choreography from the great Broadway shows including: Singin' in the Rain, An American in Paris, Annie, Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz, Cats and many more. Broadway shows encompass all styles of dance, tap being a major component of many.
