The Music Department needs 16 Eastman Electro-Acoustic Violins. Students will use these violins in classical music, as well as other music genres (16 @ $733 each).

As of 8:54 p.m. 5/16/21, $775 of the $11,728 needed has been funded.

Electro-Acoustic instruments provide students a holistic string playing experience. They can experience the traditional classical canon, as well as other styles and approaches, including composition, looping, improvisation, playing rock, blues, jazz, bluegrass, etc.

Eastman has released its new Electro Acoustic instrument line, designed to deliver the warm resonance of an acoustic with the convenience of built-in amplification. The pickup is hidden underneath the varnish of the instrument, and the 3.5mm jack is fashioned as the end button on violins and violas. Players thus have the option of performing on an instrument that feels like a traditional acoustic while also having the ability to explore amplified possibilities.
