Center for Art in Wood has donated a beautiful piece by Gordon Ward entitled Neptune's Vortex. The sculpture is made of Osage orange wood and measures 8.5" x 2".

The Center for Art in Wood displays wood art on site and in traveling exhibitions. Their Windgate ITE International Residency Program has involved over 100 international residents as it continues through its third decade. Education and community outreach programs bring hands-on wood turning and woodworking experience to students throughout the region. The Museum Collection contains over 1000 objects from around the world, ranging from functional, every-day objects to contemporary sculptures. Their research library consists of over 25,000 images, artists' files, and books that help preserve the exciting history of wood turning and woodworking and their continuing evolution as a contemporary art form.

In my current work I continue to explore the printmaking boundaries, incorporating photo etching, carborundum and matte medium in order for the plates to provide just enough information to stimulate some memory of the past. Overlays of color come from an innate organic feeling, colors that define form, adding rich harmony creating a mood in order to appreciate and cherish autumn's seasoned essence. By means of printmaking I forever remember the ebb and flow of changes, which the tongue can but clumsily define.
