How do I participate in the online bidding auction?

Get started by clicking "Register Now" on the home page and enter your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. Your credit card information is required to bid.

How does the silent auction work?  

We will be using mobile bidding for our silent auction. You will be able to use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to keep up with the status of your bids and continue bidding until the auction closes. You can be the winning bidder wherever you are!  Silent auction bidding opens on Monday, September 14 at 9:00 a.m. EDT  

How does the live virtual auction work?  

The virtual auction will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16 and end at 8:00 p.m. You will have an opportunity to bid on the premier auction items anytime between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Our auctioneer will describe the items during the live virtual event. 

Do I need to watch the Live Virtual Event to take part in the Pam Posthumus Signature Auction?  

No, you can register for the auction only. We ask you to encourage your friends and family who live in other towns or states to join us and be a part of the auction, too! 

How do I start bidding?

Bidding for the silent auction will open on Monday, September 14 at 9:00 a.m. EDT. Browse the silent auction by clicking "Items" on the home page and start bidding on your favorite items! Place your bid on selected items, set a maximum bid, if desired, and GiveSmart will continue to keep you in the running until you reach your maximum bid. You must be registered in GiveSmart and give your credit card information to participate in bidding.  

When will my card be charged for purchases?  

At the end of the auction, you will receive a text with a link to complete your purchase by paying online. If you choose not to complete the self-checkout, all purchases for the silent auction, live auction and pledged donations will be charged to your card shortly after the auction closes at 9:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 16. 

How can I keep active and know if I am outbid or have won an item?

You will be notified via text if you have been outbid. Keep an eye on your favorite items! If you are NOT receiving the text messages make sure you have the correct mobile number under your profile. The texts will continue to notify you when you have been outbid or reached your maximum bid. When the silent auction closes, you will also receive a text message if you were the winning bidder on any items.  

How will I acquire my winning items?

Winning bidders are strongly encouraged to pick up ALL auction items at the Children's Trust Fund office (Grand Tower, 235 South Grand Avenue, Lansing, MI 48933) during the following scheduled pick-up times:

  • Thursday, September 17, 2020: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Friday, September 18, 2020: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 19, 2020: BY APPOINTMENT ONLY  

Due to COVID-19, we ask that you please park in front of the building and call us at 517-241-0042 to let us know you are here.  We will have staff on hand to assist getting your item(s) to you.   


Auction items that are certificates can be mailed to the winning bidder if you are unable to pick up during scheduled pick-up times. To help cover our costs, a shipping and handling fee of $5.00 will be charged to your credit card. 


If you are unable to pick up your item during scheduled pick-up times, they can be shipped to you.  To help cover our costs we will be adding the mailing fee to your credit card which we vary depending on the weight and size of the item (s) and where they are being shipped.
