FRIENDS BENEFIT 2020: TAKING CARE
Thursday, March 5, 2020
Cocktail Hour begins at 6:30pm
Each year, Friends Seminary hosts a Benefit for approximately 500 members of the community. As the School's largest fundraiser, the event strives to promote community involvement and participation in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: attendance at the event, donation of items for Silent or Live Auction, sponsorship for the evening's programming, and enthusiastic volunteers to join and share their talents.
The evening's program includes a cocktail hour, dinner, live and silent auctions, and a small program. This year, in conjunction with the school-wide theme of Taking Care, proceeds from Friends Benefit 2020 will go toward Faculty and Administrative Staff professional development. As a community of learners, it is vital to the continuing improvement and evolution of the curriculum that the School makes professional development a priority for all faculty and administrative staff. These funds send teachers to curriculum-related conferences, help them obtain graduate degrees, bring highly qualified speakers to school to lead workshops, and much more. Friends Seminary prides itself for having some of the most dedicated and highly qualified faculty and administrative staff in New York City. By taking care of our Faculty and Staff, we in turn take care of our students and the entire Friends community.
Friends Seminary is a 501(c)(3) education nonprofit organization. As such, contributions are deductible to the full extent of the law. All donations become the property of Friends Seminary. The School will make every effort to sell items at the Auction. Unsold items will remain in the School's collection until they can be sold. The Art Auction is curated by the Art Committee - every effort will be made to include all artwork, however, pieces may be retained for future sale.
Friends Seminary is located at 222 East 16th Street, New York, NY 10003.
