Ms. Harris-Butler's home in Keswick originally belonged to her grandmother. She worked 27 years driving a truck for her family's sanitation disposal business, but had to retire when she was diagnosed with breast cancer six years ago. She has two sons who live in the area with their families and a daughter who lives in Richmond-she enjoys time with her seven grandchildren, watching three of them during the summer. When we met Ms. Harris-Butler, she had been without hot water for two years and has been heating water on her stove to bathe. AHIP is in the process of installing a new unit courtesy of a donation from AO Smith Foundation that was made possible by our local NOLAND dealer. Built in 1954, the home needs further repairs and updates, with the immediate need being to add electrical outlets to prevent a possible fire. Can you be the difference to Ms. Harris-Butler's safety and security?
- Electrical receptacles in three rooms
