ART of the Matter

About the Event

Co-chairs David Hall (UNHCR) and Jill Ryan Davis (Share Our Strength, No Kid Hungry) invite you to join BEST Kids on Tuesday, September 24th from 6:30-9:30pm for our first-ever event at City Winery. ART of the Matter is our annual art showcase and silent auction benefiting our mentoring program for youth in the Washington, DC area foster care system!

More than any simple fundraiser, ART of the Matter celebrates a wonderful collection of art that includes pieces created by our very own mentees. Art is a catalyst for positive change; it fuels the imagination and harnesses the creativity in each of us. In preparation for this special event, the BEST Kids family has explored and embraced the powerful impact of art in our daily lives by participating in a variety of painting, dramatic performance, and photography workshops. Come to see the fruits of our learning, all while enjoying delicious food, drinks, live music, and of course, bidding on fabulous silent auction items! BEST Kids will also use this opportunity to recognize our annual award winners for their contributions to the agency and the community at-large. Please join us for this year's ART of the Matter, it is sure to be an unforgettable evening!

Details for the Evening

Date, Time, and Location
Join us on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at City Winery DC, 1350 Okie St NE, Washington, DC 20003.

Doors open at 6:00 pm. Food will be served until 8:30 pm. Drinks and desserts will be served after our program. The silent auction will run through 8:30 pm and auction check-out will begin approximately at 9:15 pm.

Check-In
Make your check-in a breeze by pre-registering with all of your information! Make sure to enter your phone number, email, and credit card details when purchasing your tickets. The sooner you register, the sooner you can get in on the early-bird bidding!

Not able to attend but still interested in bidding on items? Not a problem! Use the "Register to Participate" button above to bid from afar!

Parking
City Winery provides valet parking for $12.00. Alternatively, there is a parking garage one block away from the venue located at 1508 Okie St NE, which is free for the first 90 minutes and has a maximum charge of $8.00/day. Metered street parking is also available around the venue.

Attire
Attire for the evening ranges from business casual to cocktail dress. While we will have some tables, seating is available but limited, so make sure to dress comfortably!

Mobile Devices
BEST Kids is going high-tech! You can now purchase tickets and place bids on all auction items using your smartphone or tablet, so make sure your devices are fully charged and ready for action. Don't worry, our bidding volunteers will be in place throughout the night to assist, should you have any questions.
