"Local artist Janice Diaz Saavedra is a Tampa native. For the past forty years she had pursued her passion for painting as a hobby, while building two businesses. She and her husband are owners of MLI Marketing Solutions, Inc.
Janice's professional background focused on graphic arts, design, printing and marketing. She has received numerous industry and national awards for creative design, advertising, marketing retail campaigns for a host of major clients.
Janice is a self-taught artist. Having never received formal art instruction for painting, she relys on eye and instinct. Her work represents a visual collection of thoughts, ideas and inspiration from personal reflections formed from memories, influences and travel experiences - both literal and figurative - as perceived by her imagination.
Her rendering of Flamingos received a third place at the 2016 Florida State Fair. For the past two years, her pieces have been selected as finalist in the Tampa Bay Rays Celebration of Art Competiion, and are on display at Amalie Arena, 5th floor.
Her work is currently featured at various locations throughout the Tampa Bay. An ongoing exhibition of her work, is prominently displayed, in the lobby of, Roche Surety and Casualty, Inc., 4107 N. Himes Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607.
