After Slade's funeral in 2015, Laura and Tom found themselves surrounded by hydrangeas and peace lilies. Many were divided amongst family, but a majority of hydrangeas were planted in Laura and Tom's yard. These hydrangeas were moved in 2017 to their new house and planted in an area known as "Slade's Garden". This year, Laura has rooted a cutting from Slade's hydrangeas with the hope that wherever it ends up it will bring smiles to people's faces when it blooms in the spring. Laura will re-root another cutting in the spring if purchased plant does not take.

She can be found (usually covered in paint) working in clients' homes to hang commissioned paintings or paint wallpaper-style murals, cohosting popup shops to collaborate with other small business owners, or at the local art supply store stocking up on blank canvases.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Vicki McCafferty; Born in Lancaster, Ohio and as a young girl, always drawing and dreaming when a high school art teacher encouraged her to press further into her passion. By the end of school, having won not only a Design Award, but also a four-year Scholarship to Columbus College of Art & Design in Ohio proved her art teacher's instincts were correct. As a discovery in the joy of watercolor came, new skills and continued education did too along with workshops by well-known watercolorists. That education eventually led her to become the President of the Central Ohio Watercolor Society, winning Awards, exhibiting in shows and teaching. A new season came after a family tragedy and a call to explore a deeper understanding of a identity as a woman of God and artist which eventually led to enrolling in BSSM school of ministry in Redding, California in 2013. That year beginning to paint again and relearning the medium of acrylic released art pieces from a place of prophetic discoveries as the Lord was revealing His heart. Out of new intimacy with the Lord and through the mentorship of Theresa Dedmon, art director, and the art community of Bethel, a sense of identity as an artist was reborn. The biggest desire is that in each piece created whether on stage at Bethel Church, on the mission field, home in Ohio or during time in the studio, that you receive the breakthrough and the love from the Father...HIS heart of transformation and healing. Art is an adventure into an unknown world, which can be explored only by those willing to take risks. The reward is always worth the risk.

Rebecca Hoyle is a modern impressionist oil painter. Her artwork is a whimsical take on the coastal surroundings and cuisine of Charleston.

Danielle Cather Cohen (b. 1975-) is a colorist and impressionist originally from Shrewsbury, New Jersey. With over 30 years of experience, her interest in art began at the very young age of six, as she was mentored for almost a decade by Evelyn Leavens, an internationally renowned artist from Red Bank, NJ. She has always had a great love for the interaction of color and spirit. Her mediums are pencil, gouache, and watercolor; but her main focus is oil.

This project is a really great way to carve out time to do art together as a family. In this crate you will find a series of "mystery materials" and a blank canvas. Each layer should be added in sequential order to allow drying time in between.

Laura and Karen have become fast friends and both happen to have the same career. So while they were brought together by tragedy they are now friends who help each other along the way. Karen found it coincidental that Slade's twin, Sanders, shared the name with one of their favorite chocolate sauces. And the tradition continues this year with a wonderful donation from The Anklam Family.
