The Piltch and Gemma Families have been bonded for over 15 years by their large nuclear families and a passion to address the impact of breast cancer through The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation (GGBCF), a nonprofit organization serving RI, Southeastern MA, and Eastern CT. GGBCF is dedicated to providing free support, education and wellness
services to individuals and families touched by breast cancer.

Two of the 3 sisters and a sister-in-law in our family have defeated breast cancer. They had the good fortune to have the resources to be diagnosed in time, excellent Drs., and a network of people to help meet their varied needs throughout the difficult process. We know that a large number of people are not as blessed as our sisters, and one of the many things we love about GGBCF is that the organization serves a diverse group of people, many of whom would otherwise have no access to support or services. The importance of this can't be overstated. When our sisters were diagnosed, we were struck by the emotions and confusion that occur when you or a loved one is diagnosed with cancer. We applaud the GGBCF for providing the support and resources people need whether newly diagnosed, a survivor or someone has lost a loved one to cancer.

On Nov. 21 members of our family will be performing at "BRAS for a CAUSE" at Twin Rivers Casino. We will be doing a skit from the movie "9 to 5" and Dolly Parton will be making a guest appearance.
