Hi, I'm Sharell (Shuh-rell)! I delight in the beauty of nature and the great outdoors. I strive to add vivid splashes of color and a dash of whimsy to my bright and happy artwork. Upon graduating with a degree in Animal Biology, I started a pet sitting and dog walking business which led to experimental pet portrait paintings. I have always had an artsy soul and soon found I loved painting animals and nature. I add an extra element of the outdoors to my work by creating my art on wood slices.

"Choosing Uncertainty #2" is pertinent to the AAC as it is from an expedition I went on after being rewarded the Copp-Dash inspire award and the Shipton Tilman Grant. We traveled to the remote Neacola Range in Alaska and put up multiple first ascents."

Craig is an artist and mountain guide living in Washington State. For over 20 years, Muderlak
has been climbing throughout the Western U.S and abroad. He has put up multiple first-ascents in Alaska and has assisted a paraplegic climber climb El Capitan. For Muderlak, climbing and creativity go hand-in-hand. His work is an expression of the obsession, yearning, and profound experiences he associates with expansive landscapes and adventure. Muderlak relies on the wilderness and adventure for his sense of identity, its restorative properties, and for fostering his community; and he utilizes his work to interpret this visceral connection.

For Craig, art and climbing are intertwined. Through both pursuits, he finds the adventure and valuable human experiences in which he relies for his sense of identity. Through the spontaneous and compulsive use of color, text and contour, he shares something more than simply a depiction of beautiful landscapes. Instead, his illustrations are an outward expression of the obsession, yearning and emotions associated with his connection to these landscapes. Danielle and Ryan were raised in the midwest and attended the same university, but they did not meet until a series of adventures brought them to Denver a few years after college. Shortly after they were introduced, Danielle invited Ryan to a concert- just as friends. This friendly, non-date led to many more adventures and, within the year, they celebrated their engagement and moved into their first home, Tiny House. It was here that the pair fostered their curiosity and creativity and began pouring candles for friends and family. They were married on the banks of the St. Vrain and, as the stars came out, they danced under the overhanging trees to their song, "Old Pine." Danielle and Ryan soon made the beautiful mountain community of Evergreen, CO their home and the Old Pine Candle Company was born.

Sherpas are probably the most recognizable ethnic population within Nepal. Literally living at the top of the world, Sherpas are born mountaineers. Sherpa climber Tenzing Norgay accompanied Sir Edmund Hillary on his pioneering climb of Mt. Everest in 1953.
