First known for its emphasis on alignment, Iyengar yoga is classical, Indian hatha yoga, known for its many therapeutic applications. Teachers provide direct, individualized instruction, accessible to all. It is an ideal system of yoga for all students, from advanced level to new beginner. Students receive individualized instruction appropriate to their level, and can expect a more involved experience, with teachers adjusting and assisting to ensure that students move in a safe, efficient manner. Some classes are physically rigorous while others are slow-paced and restorative.
Instructor, Deborah Baker, is lyengar certified, has studied yoga for 25 years and has been teaching yoga since 1996. She has made multiple trips to India and has studied with the lyengars many times.
Instructor, Lynn Hawthorne, is currently working to earn her lyengar Yoga Certification, a process which takes many years of study. She has studied yoga for many years, and began teaching yoga at Park Hill Yoga in 2017.
