I want to thank each and every one of you for all you have done to help make Noah's the phenomenal organization that it is today. This has truly been a grass roots effort started by Staci Alonso and her son Noah; yet without the foster parents, volunteers, corporate partners, successful fundraisers (we put the FUN in Fundraisers), donors and construction workers, Noah's would never have been possible.
All the work is greatly benefitting the women and children not only in Las Vegas and Reno, but across the country, by providing safe and loving shelters for their pets. It has been a long and wonderful twelve+ years. Clients have arrived at our doorstep from over 20 states across the U.S. Women traveling hundreds, if not thousands of miles, so that they could escape and heal with their pet by their side.
Maybe we did not get all the recognition we might have hoped for along the way, but then none of us did it for the recognition. We did it because of our love of animals as family pets and a determination to protect the entire family.
The community, the families we served and supporters however have noticed, and Noah's Animal House is one of this year's CNN Heroes. This Emmy award winning campaign hosted by Anderson Cooper is in its 13th year and has received over 85,000 nominations from 100 countries. Last month, Noah's 2019 Hero announcement was released by CNN. Each year there are 25 Heroes selected amongst thousands of nominees. On November 1st, the top 10 CNN Hero videos are selected and the grand prize winner is selected through public voting. Each of the top ten heroes receive $10,000 and the winner an additional $100,000.
Again, none of this would have been possible without the community support Noah's Animal House has received.
