WA 96 (2012 Pisoni Estate): Probably the wine of the vintage from the Santa Lucia Highlands, the 2012 Pinot Noir Estate comes all from the granite soils of the Pisoni Estate vineyard, which is located in the southern end (which means the fog clears off earlier and warmer temps) of the appellation. It offers rocking aromas and flavors of crème de cassis and black raspberry fruit, big minerality, spring flowers and forest floor to go with a full-bodied, structured and classy feel on the palate. While it's hard to resist now, it has the depth, richness and tannic structure to evolve nicely through 2022.

WA 95 (2014 Pisoni Estate): A killer wine from one of the great sites in California, the 2014 Pinot Noir Estate comes from the decomposed granite soils of the Pisoni vineyard located in the southern portion of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Its vibrant ruby/purple-tinged color is followed by a youthful, fruit-filled bouquet of plums, blackberries, violets and exotic spices. Medium to full-bodied, silky and seamless on the palate, with fabulous purity and a tight, elegant and reserved feel, give bottles 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy through 2024+.
