An astute American Wagyu breeder told me when we first got into the breed that if you wanted a picture of what a Wagyu Bull should look like, BR ltomichi 0602 would be that bull. A low% Tajima bull who weighed 2,100 lbs, many consider him just a growth & frame bull. He is much more than that. He produces fast growing calves and beautiful females with great milk. He was also used heavily for meat production, showcasing his ability to produce top carcasses. OW Abigale's Mochiko was bred by Ohio Wagyu and their main herd Sire, the 2,200 lb LMR Fukutsuru 729T. 729T's Sire, is the famed marbling bull Fukutsuru 068 & his Grand Sire is the already mentioned BR ltomichi 0602. 729T is as close to a mirror image of 0602 as I have seen. Mochiko herself is over 1,300 lbs and is the spitting image of her mother Bar R Miss 51N. SlN is still active and bred back at 15 years old. Mochiko, like SlN and her Grand Dam, Bar R Miss 51J who was over 16 before she passed, had her 1st natural calf before she was 2. Early maturity along with longevity are key attributes in building a strong maternal foundation for your farm for years to come. Breeding Mochiko back to her Grand Sire BR ltomichi 0602 is a combination that we believe will continue to improve on this great line.
