"The Slugger" Mike Schmidt

"The Slugger", Michael Jack Schmidt, issued in 1990, is a 32" x 22" serigraph numbered 249/300 in mint condition and flawlessly signed in pencil in lower margin by Mike Schmidt and famous sports artist LeRoy Neiman. Using vibrant colors, Neiman depicted famous athletes and sporting events. A prolific painter, Neiman is celebrated for his dramatic, lively work.

This modern classic, issued the year following Schmidt's retirement from the game in 1989, is widely recognized as the premier Schmidt signed display piece. Schmidt is considered by many to be the greatest third baseman in baseball history. In addition to 10 Gold Glove Awards, Schmidt also garnered 3 MVP Awards and is one of only 23 players to hit 500 or more home runs. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995 and was later named to Baseball's prestigious All-Century Team in 1999.
