The Bonollo family has been experimenting with the century-old art of grappa since the 19th century. It's been more than 150 years now and the company is still successfully run by the family (4th generation). From its distillery in the Veneto region of Italy, Bonollo creates grappa from the distillation of marc obtained from pressing the dried grapes from which the very fine Amarone della Valpolicella is produced. The spirit is characterized by its exceptional aromatic wealth and liveliness, as well as a softness and balance; it reaches complete maturity through a carefully orchestrated aging process in small French oak casks that enable gradual development of harmonious and delicate spicy tones. Bonollo's amaro employs a secret family recipe that combines herbs, roots, essential oils, and orange zest to produce a unique spectrum of aromas. The result is a delicious bitter liqueur with great length and subtle bitterness that can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as the perfect cocktail ingredient.
