The bamboo fly rod's reputation precedes itself. It is a beautiful, versatile fishing instrument that carries with it a sense of nostalgia. Walking up to the river with a bamboo rod in hand brings to mind an image of our ancestors; soaking grass to fill their creel baskets and casting dry flies on silk lines to wild trout. But that only warms the heart and it is often overlooked that the bamboo fly rod is a great, modern, versatile tool. It is true that it has its faults. It's not the best tool for when the wind is gusting at 30 mph or for reaching a target 80 ft away, but when the weather is favorable and the water is clear and like glass, you'll want the delicate presentation delivered by bamboo to hunt your mark. The extra mass in a bamboo fly rod will feel a little heavier in hand than fiberglass or carbon fiber at first but you'll soon find that it aides in casting, allowing the rod to load through your cast as smooth as silk, delivering the line as effortless as instinct, and ultimately laying the fly down with an unprecedented delicacy. Keep your bamboo rod packed away for those special days when you REALLY want to be on the water, and the fish know it.

Seth Davis is a native of west Texas. He and his family enjoy many different outdoor activities including: hunting, camping, and most of all fly fishing.

Seth graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master of Science in Wildlife Science and has worked as a wildlife biologist from Mexico to Alaska.

When Seth isn't carving fish he is most likely chasing them. The pursuit of native trout in their native waters is his real passion.

Who better to carve your one-of-a-kind artwork than someone who has handled everything from arctic char to gila trout and most fish in between.

Consists of aged whiskies from Aberfeldy, Aultmore, Craigellachie, The Deveron and Royal Brackla.

Unless you really know your Scottish whiskey you likely haven't heard too much of these operations,
Aberfeldy, known as the "Golden Dram," draws its water from the Pitilie Burn. Pure and fresh, its waters are famed for containing deposits of alluvial gold. The dram is much admired for its honey notes, displaying a classic Central Highland style rarely tasted in single malts today. Named "Highland Whisky of the Year 2014" by Whisky Magazine. Included in this collection are Aberfeldy 12-year-old and a 21-year-old.
Aultmore is a rare Speyside malt known locally as "a nip of the Buckie Road." The distillery's water filters down through the misty, mysterious area called the Foggie Moss. AULTMORE is rated top-class and is a dram sought after for its gentle grassy notes. Aultmore is a rare Speyside favorite of the locals and Buckie Fishermen. Offered in this collection are Aultmore 12 year and 18 year.
Craigellachie has released a portfolio of single malts for the first time in history. The distillery stays true to its traditions of whisky-making, including the use of worm tubs - so called for their coiled copper tubing - to cool the spirit. A challenging Speyside whisky, it was described as "old-fashioned" even in 1891 as it makes no concessions to modern-day trends. Single malt fans appreciate Craigellachie for its remarkable sulphuric, savoury, meaty character. CRAIGELLACHIE scotch included in this collection are 13 year old and 17 year old.
The Deveron, made where the River Deveron meets the open seas. Offering "calm from the storm," it's the perfect fireside malt. Soft fruity notes combine with an easy drinking style to make The Deveron a favorite with the work force of the distillery. Offered in this collection are the 12 and 18 year old offerings.
Royal Brackla is a truly regal malt. Founded in 1812, in the northern Highlands, it hails from the first distillery bestowed with a royal warrant and has since been lauded as "The King's Own Whisky." Heavily sherried, rich, fruity and full, Royal Brackla is a fine dram to savour as it slowly reveals its complexity. This collection will contain 12-year-old and 16-year-old expressions.
