When the opportunity came up to dance in the new benefit event, Regina had just celebrated her birthday with a night of dancing. In her own words, her "love of people, dance, and her competitive spirit made her a perfect candidate". While she's never had a formal dance lesson, she's convinced her passion will carry her through.
Regina met her husband Jesse while he was in a Navy uniform in Virginia. They celebrated 33 years of marriage in February 2019. They have two adult children, Jesse and Helen.
Regina is the founder, owner, and director of Princeton Children's Center on North Woodlawn in Wichita, KS. The facility and staff provide childcare - pre-school and pre-K - in a culturally rich environment. She serves on a variety of boards and in her spare time she provides business and personal consulting and mentorship through R. Miller Consulting LLC. Even a brief look at her Facebook page reveals a deep faith driving her positive outlook.
Terry has invested 29 years in the military, and 20 years in dance. He is giving up one of them. Not Dance!
He took his first class to meet people and socialize, and by his second group class he was in love with the artistry and movement of dance, and wanted to learn everything about partnership dance that he could. He says he was able to find classes nearly every night of the week, and within six months was competing in the Country Western Dance Circuits.
Within 5 years Terry had a full trophy case, and had turned pro. While in San Antonio for military training Terry found places to dance, which is where he met Colleen. Within four months she had moved to the area to be nearer, and 7 months after they met they were married! Soon after, the newlyweds opened their own studio; JustGottaDance in Derby.
Terry teaches up to 30 hours a week as a partner at A Step Ahead Dance Studio on S. St. Francis in downtown Wichita. He loves teaching all levels, prepping students for competition or getting a nervous couple ready for a wedding dance.
His list of awards and accomplishments would fill the page,
AND his lovely motto:
"Lead her gently and she will follow you anywhere"
