Join Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (MRSOD) docents and former NASA scientist Joe Jordan to discover nighttime natural wonders and the mysteries of the Universe during an exclusive after-hours visit adventure in open space. Participants will have the option of a short night hike in addition to stargazing from tiered viewing platforms with panoramic view of peaks and ridgelines that extend to the Pacific Ocean. This evening adventure is perfect for you and your guests to learn from a truly engaging science educator and knowledgeable passionate docents!

Joe Jordan is a Santa Cruz resident who worked for decades doing atmospheric and space research at NASA Ames and the SETI Institute, and serves on the board of directors of Ecology Action. Joe has delivered a TED Talk on energy and the future of the world, and leads astronomy and "physics-in-nature" hikes. He's been featured on radio and television, and has taught on climate issues and renewable energy at Cabrillo College and San Jose State University.

Midpeninsula Regional Open Space (MROSD) is a regional greenbelt system in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is comprised of over 60,000 acres of land in 26 open space preserves protected for public enjoyment, making a preserve system of diverse and unparalleled beauty in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country.


Restrictions: Group size limited to 20 participants. Date for activity to be arranged with item donors at least 3 weeks in advance. Successful bidder will be provided with contact information.
