Antoine Jobard has take over from his father François, who helped build the legendary status of this estate based in the village of Merusault in Burgundy. This is an old-school producer, fermentation takes place in the cold cellars of Jobard, using old oak barrels, spending on a long time on their fine lees. This wine comes from a Premier Cru vineyard, 35+ year-old vines in the clay-limestone soil of "Poruzots." Intensely mineral, with beautiful notes of Meyer lemon and toasted hazelnuts.
Steve Matthiasson is one of California's most important farmers. An advocate for sustainable vineyard practices, he has become a sought after consultant in Napa Valley. Steve and his wife, Jill, have their own winery, dedicated to wines farmed the right way, with good balance and complexity. This single vineyard Cabernet comes from the "Dead Fred Vineyard" in Coombsville. Packed with volcanic ash and rocks, the vineyard faces SW, picking up daytime heat, but also cooling influences from nighttime winds. He produces around 100 cases per year of this excellent Napa Valley Cabernet.
From a steep, terraced site of old vines, this wine is remarkably expressive and incredibly aromatic with stunning depth on the palate. Very elegant concentration of dark berries and pepper tones, with piercing floral aromas that exudes complexity and distinctly fresh notes on every sip from the glass.

Located in Gevrey-Chambertin and focused almost entirely on wines from that village, the Esmonin family has only been 'domaine-bottling' its own wines since 1991. Previously, André Esmonin sold grapes (and wine) to some of Burgundy's most respected négociants, including Jadot and Leroy. André continues to assist his son, Frédéric, at this tiny property, whose vineyard holdings total just four hectares. This wine comes from the Premier Cru vineyard of Estournelles St. Jacques in Gevrey-Chambertin. It is a pretty, elegant and mineral-laden style of Gevrey.
This is one of Spain's great white wines, hailing from the interior of Galicia in the Northwest corner of Spain. A historically important area during Roman times, while gold was being mind, thirsts were being quenched with white wine coming from terraced hillside vineyards planted into the granite soil. Emilio Rojo makes just one wine, from a beautiful parcel containing several local varieties, including Treixadura, Loureiro, Lado, Albarino and Torrontés. This white wine is co-fermented in stainless steel tanks, and aged on its lees before being bottled. Just 50 cases of this wine comes to the US every year, a true cult wine.
Vincent Laval produces just over 10,000 bottles per year out of his small cellar in the village of Cumières. The family has always worked organically in the vineyard. All the grapes are fermented in small, used oak barrels, before undergoing secondary fermentation in bottle. "Garennes" is a new cuvée for Laval, combining fruit from the village of Chambercy, with reserve wine from Cumières. This Champagne is predominately composed of 2016 vintage fruit, with reserve wine from 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Chardonnay. A wine with expressive minerality, richly textured fruit that maintains incredible balance and vibrancy with a good amount of weight and buoyancy on the palate. Toasty undertones with profound acidity revealing a lengthy finish.
