BRUSH 2017-photography by Ursula Beatt
25 x 19. LE 1/10
I call myself the Accidental Photographer who only photographs with an iPhone. My photos are rarely altered, I like them raw and authentic. What and how I see it is how I shoot it.
This photograph is the view through my cars windshield at an old decrepit drive-through car wash in Oakland. I noticed a cool, abstract painting forming in front of my eyes as the leathers and brushes washed my window. I hope it will provoke curiosity, make the viewer want to stop and linger, breathing into the beauty of the colors and the soothing strokes the leathers and brushes created. The dreamy quality reminiscent of an abstract oil painting shows best as archival photo print face-mounted. This is the first of a series of six.
