About the artist, Mark Baskinger: "Mark Baskinger is Director of the First Year program and Associate Professor in the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University. He teaches courses in interaction and industrial design that explore new paradigms for interactive objects and interpretive environments, and methodologies of design drawing and visual thinking to promote collaboration. Parallel to his teaching, Mark has been making wooden vessels since 2003 as an exploration of form, material and graphic line."
