Do you love to play the violin? Do you want to learn how to play fiddle music? It's easy and fun! Fiddle tunes are simple and you can even learn them by ear - we can show you how. Beloved Landon orchestra director, concert violinist and fiddle champion Mr. Robert Spates will teach you to play Irish music, Bluegrass, and other fiddle styles. Each day starts with an easy warm up. We will then listen to different kinds of fiddle music, see how the tunes are put together, and try them out for ourselves. We will read some from sheet music, but many of them we will learn by ear. After lunch, we can get creative and even make up our own tunes. On Friday, July 12 at 2:30 p.m. we will have a jam session for parents and friends to attend. So join us and have some foot-stompin' fun!

One-week session, July 8-12, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
for boys and girls, rising 4th through rising 12th graders.

Prerequisite: At least two years of violin experience or completion of Suzuki Book 1. Students should be comfortable playing scales in first position.
