Michael Hallinan was born in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from San Jose State University and continued his education at Long Beach State University. He also attended the Art Institute of Southern California as a scholarship student.

Hallinan uses acrylic paint on paper as his medium. He travels frequently to the tropics in search of new colorful, compositions. His works have been on the cover of several national magazines, including American Artist of Southern California. He co-authored a book on landscape painting and was invited to submit his name to Who's Who in American Art. Recently he was included in an illustrated survey of leading contemporary artists published by American Artist.

In 1988, Hallinan was the only living artist to be included in the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach, California. His works are included in private collections throughout the United States and abroad from Saudi Arabia to Japan. He has been exhibiting at the Festival of the Arts in Laguna Beach for the past fourteen years.

Some of his originals may be viewed at his Laguna Beach Gallery. His limited edition prints are available throughout the United States. The Southeastern Distributor is Seven North, Inc.
