"New Beginnings" by Chris Fallows

Elephant poaching has had a devastating impact on Africa's elephant populations and virtually everywhere on the continent their numbers are plummeting. However, there are a few bastions of hope, where populations are stable or growing. Amboseli in South Kenya is one such location. Dedicated conservation, research and tourism organizations have tirelessly monitored, guarded and protected this population once on the brink of being wiped out.

Today, large herds still roam the dusty plains lying in the foothills of Kilimanjaro and the number of young in this large breeding herd pays testament to the relentless conservation efforts of many, and the rewards that come with perseverance.
