Larry Racioppo made these photographs as part of MOVIE THEATERS OF NEW YORK CITY'S OUTER BOROUGHS: Past Glory and Adaptive Reuse.
This long-term project was supported by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in Fine Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts.
Larry personally made all of the 11x14 inch chromogenic prints from large format negatives.

Artist bio:

Larry Racioppo was the staff photographer for New York City's Department of Housing Preservation and Development for more than 20 years. He has earned several grants, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, for his own work documenting the urban landscape. His most recent books are B-BALL NYC (South Brooklyn Boy Publishing, 2019) and Brooklyn Before: Photographs, 1971-1983 (Cornell University Press, 2018).
