Artist's Statement:

Yelena has chosen to draw the King and the Queen of Chess in the memory of her physicist Grandfather. She was a teenager when he passed away and sadly she didn't have enough moments in life to spend with him, the only memories she has of him have became the foundation of her life as an adult and the starting of her career. "He made sure to teach me all the important things in life , from family, love to how to be a master at playing Chess, in Life".

1500 hours of work and over 3 million freehand layers of ink dots were put into creating each piece. York has mastered the Art of patience by leaving no room for error and dedicating herself for months on creating each artwork.

Yelena York is an American Artist. Her extensive background in graphic design and photography easily led her to a career in fine art. Her impressive collections of fine art and mixed media pieces are comprised of a breathtaking spectrum of colors and 22 karat gold leafing. Her paintings and pointillism works can take up to 13 months to complete, each totally hand done free style on canvas or heavy weight paper with no initial sketches.

York known for her extremely detailed Pointillism works, her meticulous pen and ink pieces leave no room for error, each finished to precision with no mistakes, lest she begin all over again. A true perfectionist at heart, York brings her magical energy and impeccable form to each piece that can only be admired with awe and appreciated for its own excellence. In a very short period of time, York already has an impressive list of exhibitions and private collectors and, adding to that list, received the award for Best Artist at the Oxford International Art Fair in 2015 also Dubai Best Artist Award 2018.
