Chateau Saint Roch Chimeres 2016

Delight no matter the occasion with this sophisticated wine gift basket of four (4) bottles of Chateau Saint Roch Chimeres 2016, paired with treats to satisfy your palate.

Chimères is made from vines of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan planted on black schist and schistous clay soils near the village of Maury (both inside and just outside the village boundaries, so Chimères carries the Côtes du Roussillon Villages appellation). These sites are located at the base of the mountain-top fortress of Quéribus, one of the last sanctuaries of the Cathars. Made through a strict selection of fruit, first at the vineyard and then a berry by berry selection after destemming, Chimères captures the dark fruit flavors and spicy minerality of the black schist soils of greater Agly Valley. The wine showcases red fruit (cherries and raspberries), accented with dried spices and a hint of dark chocolate.

Everything the wine lover needs to share an evening with a fellow wine lover! Get ready to enjoy this lovely white wine with an array of specialized treats.

The super fresh, citrus fruit-salad character makes this medium-bodied white very attractive, with a clean, long finish that has plenty of energy. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, it has a rather austere bouquet with pink grapefruit and citrus peel aromas that show a little more delineation than its peers. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, fine tension with a pleasant salinity towards the finish and ready to drink now.

This lovely basket comes with everything you need for a picnic for two, including plates, cutlery, cloth napkins, wine glasses, corkscrew, wine stopper, foil cutter, and two condiment jars. It also comes with a variety of delicious picnic snacks and two bottles of Vermeil wine (one red, one white).
