Chris Felix Framed Digitial Print

4 Coasters of Harry Wright

2019 is the 150th anniversary of professional baseball and it started right here in Cincinnati. The Red Stockings were led by player/manager Harry Wright who believed ball players should be paid for playing. There was some "under the table" payments but nothing official and on the books until Harry literally changed the game. His brother, George, played shortstop and was known as the best player of his time. Unbelievably, this team went 57-0 their first season and didn't lose their first game until 30 games into their second season.

The artist - Chris Felix - is a native of Cincinnati, an avid baseball player and lifelong fan of the Reds. He was commissioned by the authors of the book "Baseball Revolutionaries ... How the 1869 Red Stockings rocked the country and made baseball famous" to provide the painting for the books cover. (Due out on opening day)
