Dear CultivateLA Friend,

It is with deep regret that I share that we must cancel CultivateLA this evening. Very early this AM, I stood in the rain under hundreds of feet of string lighting on the lawn at Century Park with Josie, our event genius. The grass is filled with pools of water, the generator areas are mud, and the security guards repeated that they've never seen this happen. As the rain persists and the weather predictions are rewritten, it's evident that our shared celebration simply can't occur together tonight.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. None of us thought that "in the event of rain, the event will be canceled, and no refunds will be issued" would become a reality. We have cultivated so much love, partnership, food and wine over the past nine years, but we've never cultivated rain.

For the past 40 years, we've been able to step in for young people when it rains. We intend to continue to do so in these next 40 years ... thank you for weathering storms with us on behalf of young people in foster care.

All my best,

Kara Allen Soldati
