Diamonds Over Georgia was founded by the Atlanta Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association in support of Penn State's annual Dance Marathon (THON). Since its inception in 1973, THON, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, has raised an incredible $147 million for the Four Diamonds. The mission of The Four Diamonds is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research. Four Diamonds offsets the cost of treatment that insurance does not cover, as well as expenses that may disrupt the welfare of the child, such as car repairs, rent, or household utilities. They also supports the medical team that cares for the children and subsidizes pediatric cancer research through startup grants and the Four Diamonds Pediatric Cancer Research Institute. For more information on this amazing organization, please visit www.fourdiamonds.org.
To show our support for similar initiatives in the Atlanta area, part of the proceeds is donated to CURE Childhood Cancer. CURE is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through targeted research and supporting patients and their families. For more information visit www.curechildhoodcancer.org
