Artist Statement:
Local flora is a favorite for my printing subject matter. Growing up on Maui, I have always been particularly interested in native plants and have been influenced by the French Impressionists and their insights into color and composition. A woodblock print and a mixed media print of mine are a part of the State Collection. I am giving this woodblock print to this auction because the MACC is an important cause to support.
HoneyBun Haynes has a unique style whether it be an illustration in pencil or one of her etchings or a woodblock print. She has experimented with both Japanese and American papers and has been accepted in the prestigious Honolulu Print Show She has shown in several exhibits locally at Hui Noeau.
