Snowy Footprints& Lost Blanket
$5Full Item Name: Snowy Footprints and a lost blanket. I crafted this soap art, titled "Snowy Footprints and a Lost Blanket," It won Okla's Choice at the 2024 Choctaw Art Show. I drew inspiration from the Trail of Tears, a journey endured by my ancestor, Anny Scott. In honoring our heritage, I aimed to capture the essence of loss and hardship. While our tradition often favors elongated and flat diamond shapes, I adapted them to suit the medium of soap, creating a modern yet recognizable motif. This piece serves as a heartfelt tribute, resonating with the struggles of our past while embracing contemporary unique expressions. This is a no-use piece and has no fragrance. It comes in a beautiful craft display box so you can keep it safe. Ingredients; Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerin (kosher, veggie origin) Goat's Milk, Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Sorbitol (moisturizer), Propylene Glycol (moisturizer, made from vegetable glycerin), Sorbitan Oleate (emulsifier), Oat Protein ( moisturizer booster), Titanium Dioxide (mineral whitener), Alcohol, Skin Safe Mica.
About the donor: As a registered Choctaw artist and the maker at Baker's Bars Soapery, I create handmade soap and body care that brings together art, storytelling, and everyday life.
