ERIN KAYA BIOGRAPHY

I grew up in Chicago, I was always drawing - I invented cartoons called Funny Tummy Bears, squares all over notebooks, even all over the walls and carpet in my bedroom. I started getting into photography in Junior High and began taking my camera everywhere and photographed everyone. I studied art at the University of Kansas and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree.

After graduating, I began my career in high end retail as I was fascinated how art and fashion work together. I continued to paint as much as possible while working with some amazing designers and brands with Cynthia Rowley, Neiman Marcus, and Zara. I moved into visuals continuing to bridge the gap between fashion and art leading the visual department at Marshall Fields.

Throughout my fashion career, I continued to paint and focus on my own personal expression of art. I was always talking about it and always coming up with different ideas how I could translate fashion and my overall creative ideas into my own paintings. Cynthia Rowley and Marshall Fields, along with several other local stores started to hang my art throughout their stores.

In 2005, I began traveling throughout Europe, Turkey, and Africa. I even taught art to children in Tanzania, Africa. Those children and experiences changed the way I view the earth and opened my eyes to the meaning of creating art. I truly love traveling; learning about different cultures, meeting people and learning about their beliefs. I lived in Turkey off and on for 3 years.

After my daughter was born in 2009, I decided to focus strictly on painting full time. I wanted to teach her that you can do whatever you want to do in your life.

Soon I was chosen to show my art at Thomas Masters Gallery, a staple in the Chicago art scene. I have been commissioned to paint for Golub Capital in both their Chicago and New York offices. I work closely with many interior designers, Mark Rengers Gallery in PA, Vivid Art Gallery in Winnetka, as well as direct.
My most exciting news recently is that I just launched wallpaper and Rugs!
As my Aunt recently said, " you have put in the work, now is your time." I am so grateful for all the amazing excitement and love for my work from family, friends, and clients.

I have been on a creative path most of my life. I thoroughly enjoy creating and innovating through many platforms such as painting, designing an interior or a beautiful garden.
Like many artists, nature and the natural world inspire my artwork and paintings.
My work spans different styles, unique shapes and patterns with bold colors and textures, while nature and organic matter strongly influence my Meadows series.

Antonia Karakas is a self-taught artist based in Chicago. A lifelong creative, she began working as a painter in the fall of 2023, establishing Antonia K Studio.

Primarily working with acrylic, her layered pieces draw inspiration from modern architecture, interior design and her time living abroad in Greece-which has heavily influenced her work and continues to shape her perspective. She explores the beauty in contrast and is drawn to the quiet tension between precision and imperfection with a focus on tactile texture.

Antonia's process is deeply intuitive, often beginning with color, and guided by emotion and memory. She hopes her work encourages viewers to reflect and find meaning in mood, materials and space.

Her work has been exhibited in Chicago and is a part of private collections worldwide.

I am a visual artist based in the Chicago suburbs, working across painting and drawing to explore the connection between the physical and the sacred. My practice draws on close observation, whether of the human form or the natural world, to honor what lies beneath the surface: spirit, memory, and lived experience. By merging careful technique with expressive, intuitive mark-making, I invite viewers to see beyond structure and form, toward something more essential.

Deborah Alexander is a colorist at heart, moving through the nuances of emotional gradation spoken in the moments of the big events of life. Her technique begins with charcoal line drawings supported and overtaken by painterly color fields. Subjects fall in sequence, a timeline, as Riechter's Atlas. Commemorating back through the reading of Ninth Street Women by Mary Gabriel, she dug deep into the witness of women artists of the Abstract Expressionist period in NYC. What does it mean to summarily search for America, through a female lens recognizing gesture, and feeling no matter the pigment of sacrifice. Lady Liberty.
Deborah earned a BFA from UW, Oshkosh, participating in group shows from WI, FL, IL. She currently lives in Chicago, painting and supporting artists, gallerists and clients through her art consulting business.

Jon Antos is a visual artist from Chicago. Pulling from everyday habits to former encounters, his work explores queerness - particularly his own - through the lens of memory, sexual exploration, and surveillance. Through the art of bright vivid self portraiture, Jon creates scenes of mundane tasks and previous sexual experiences when he was an avid cruiser.
In his work, public spaces are more than areas of transition.
Public bathrooms, stairwells, and locker rooms became meeting grounds of sexual freedom and desire. Every figure seen in the pieces are of the artist's likeness, representing the multiple roles he played during these encounters. In contrast to the scenes of hypersexuality are ones of mundane daily tasks, such as sleeping or getting dressed. Each of these scenes depict Jon's unidealized form as it exists today, creating a sense of fluidity between time. These private moments are times of reset, ready to perform again, or an attempt to regain normalcy, but still seeking the need to be watched and admired.
High contrasting bright colors, like acid yellows and electric blues, are used throughout the body of work. They emphasize the body in different ways - from excitement, desire, and passion, to detachment, shame, and emptiness.
Through his work, Jon aims to create a space where non-conventional sexual behaviors and unidealized forms are showcased and celebrated, while also remaining truthful on what emotions can come along with presenting them.
