Liana Faletto

Untitled 2

Mixed Media

12 x 16 in.

Artist Bio

Liana Faletto is an artist and educator, working primarily in printmaking and illustration. A largely self-taught printmaker, Liana's print practice was born from experimentation while studying various print techniques.

Her work is primarily rooted in monotype, a process that allows for versatility and impulsive trial. Through an intuitive and additive approach to composition, her monotype prints take shape from unplanned reactions to color, form, and the materials around her. Viewers are compelled to look closer and notice moments of movement in curves and directional lines as well as delicate details like etched plates, unique textures, and embossments.

A Chicago native, Liana received her BA in visual arts education from DePaul University where she began experimenting with printmaking in 2011. She is an active exhibiting member of the art and print community in Chicago.

I'm Lilly and I am going to be a graduate of 2028, and I've always considered myself as a small artist in Chicago. Art has also been a good coping mechanism with my emotions and allows me to express anything that I am interested in.

Hi, my name is Cielo! I am a young Puerto Rican artist who has loved to make art from a young age. I get a lot of my inspiration from my favorite musical artists and a whole bunch of my inspiration from fashion! I haven't learned how to sew or upcycle clothes yet, but I love designing my outfits, finding a style, piling on accessories, and expressing my feelings each day with what I wear. I like to dress in a way where people remember me. I also love business wear, suits, vests, and ties. As far as my drawings go, I mostly draw people, or musical artists I look up to. Sometimes I draw what I feel when I can't put it into words. I try my best not to make every piece of my art look the same. I do this because every piece of art is unique and different, just like people. I want every person to find art that represents them, their personality or culture.

Charity Shelton

Umbra

Print

8 x 10.5 in.

Artist Bio

Charity Shelton is an emerging multidisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and self-expression. Her work explores the relationship between creativity, emotion, and the everyday experiences that connect people to one another. She has been creating art intuitively since high school, initially experimenting with pencil, pen ink, charcoal sticks, and unconventional techniques without having formal knowledge of the artistic processes behind them. Over time, what began as personal experimentation developed into a distinctive mixed-media approach. She layers drawing materials, colors, and textures to create pieces that invites viewers to look beyond the immediate image and discover details within it. Her creative process is both intentional and improvisational. Charity doesn't approach art with the expectation of knowing every technique or having complete control over the final result. Instead, she embraces the process of learning as she creates, allowing new materials and discoveries to influence the direction of her work. A recurring element throughout Charity's work is a spiral, which has become a personal visual signature. For her, the spiral represents continual growth and expansion. It reflects her belief in constantly absorbing new experiences, ideas, techniques, and perspectives. Her work encourages close observation, often incorporating small figures, hidden details, and layered imagery that reveal themselves gradually.
