I'm a queer art therapist from the South Side of Chicago who graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA in fine art and an MA in Art Therapy and Counseling working at Wellness Home Chicago.
My art practice is informed by my community-driven art therapy practice, which incorporates illustrations, fiber crafts, queer theory, and activism. My artworks range from embroideries and quilts to comics and a handmade plush toy line I call "Yarnies." My artworks are soft, cuddly, and invite participation. They entice people to come close, where underlying messages about Queer advocacy become evident

Chiara
Purple Storm
12 x 60 in.
Hi. My name is Chiara. I'm 11 years old. I love to make new things, experiment with different ideas, and I also like to write stories. I have used a lot of mediums, such as wood, yarn, paint, markers, crayons, colored pencils, drawing pencils, pens, and I think that's it. My favorites are probably markers, yarn, pens, and wood.

Blue, Purple, and Pink Beanie

I've been crocheting for 4 years and my work has visibly improved over that time period. I like to crochet hats and cute animals, plus occasionally a purse. When I crochet I don't use a pattern which makes my work different because it is not always perfect and gives my creations personality. When I see a cute crochet animal that I like I use it as inspiration for a new project. I think my creations are very creative and cute, and I hope other people see them as I do.

Summer Reynolds
Shadow The Hedgehog
6 in. diameter
Hi I'm Summer! I'm a embroidery artist. This year for art fair I made realistic versions of sonic characters. I choose Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles and Tails! It was a fun challenge and I wanted to give a new spin on fan art. I'm still searching for my artistic style but I do a lot of fan art. I also am entirely self taught. I learned through YouTube and the library. As a student at Marwen I did a lot of photography and illustration. I am always open to different art mediums. I love anything creative! If you like my art and want to see more, my Instagram is summersstitchery !:
