Jane Bresser was born and raised in NKY and received her BS and BFA in ceramics from Northern Kentucky University. She delivered mail for the U.S. Postal Service during the day, and by night continued her clay work. By 2011, she retired from the USPS, and began teaching at Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center in Covington. Bresser expresses her creativity in her creations of clay, concrete, dyed fiber and jewelry.

Gabriela Cerrillo is a lifelong artist, born in Mexico City, who has had a passion for painting since childhood. Though she has no formal artistic training, she has spent decades developing her craft and finding fulfillment through painting and other forms of creative expression.

In a fitting twist, Gabriela now owns and operates 360- Painting of Cincinnati, a residential and commercial painting company, bringing her lifelong connection to color and creativity into her professional life as well.

Hayley Cook is currently a junior at Franciscan University - Steubenville, studying abroad at their Kartause in Austria. She is majoring in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Forensics. She is an avid athlete, having played softball for the Reds Youth Academy for 10 years, her grade school and high school teams, and now for FUS. Besides softball, Hayley has developed a passion for photography, especially subjects in nature. When at away at school, Hayley is a Visitor Services Associate at Behring-Crawford Museum. She lives with her family and dog Jinx in Cincinnati.

For the past ten years, Sara Cowden has explored the art of Dot Mandala painting, creating detailed works inspired by symmetry, balance, and sacred geometry. Living in Maineville, Ohio, with her husband and two children, Sara channels her passion for artistry into a variety of creative outlets, including painting, sewing, and nail art. She is especially drawn to complex projects that challenge her to create order from chaos, a theme reflected throughout this piece. Through meticulous patterns and thoughtful design, her work celebrates both precision and creativity.

Artist's biography

Cedric Michael Cox is best known for his paintings and drawings that merge surrealism and representational abstraction. Cox's paintings catapult color into rhythmic action with abstract and recognizable images that create compositions inspired by themes in music and the natural world.

He received his BFA in painting at UC's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). Cox has exhibited regionally and nationally in museums & galleries in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton, OH; Brooklyn, NY; Chicago, IL; and Sedona, AZ.

In 2021, he completed a series of 64 paintings for Cincinnati Children's Hospital, as well as a collection of paintings for the lobby of the Kenley Hotel in Cincinnati. Throughout his career, Cox's work has been featured in books, magazines, and television.

Holland Davidson still has her blue ribbon from the very first freshART in 1993!
A Florida native, she moved to Cincinnati in 1982 and did graduate work in painting at the University of Cincinnati - while working various odd jobs to support the calling. Her work has been seen in many group exhibitions over the years, and her solo shows around the tri-state always bring old friends together.
She is included in the CAM (Cincinnati Art Museum) and UC permanent collections, and many individual collections locally and abroad.

Artist's biography

Marcia Fanthorp, a Northern Kentucky clay artist, has been practicing her art for twenty years. She began her ceramics education at community studios, with a variety of workshops, and carefully observing videos posted on Youtube and other media by seasoned artists.

Now retired, she continues her education and practice at her studio in the Pendleton Art Center in Cincinnati. Her membership in the Cincinnati Clay Alliance has provided opportunities for displays and sales and her work has been fostered by other members, both professional and amateur.

Marcia's work is primarily stoneware thrown or handbuilt into both functional and decorative forms. She has produced several coherent bodies of work and continues to experiment with techniques, clays and glazes.

Her work is on display at the Pendleton Art Center and also can be seen at various local art and craft shows.

Debra Hausrath has been quilting since the mid-1970s and sewing since elementary school when her mother introduced her to the joys of cutting fabric and putting it back together to make doll clothes, and later, her own.

She took art lessons from elementary school through high school, which cemented her passion for color, pattern, and composition.

She is in love with all quilts, old and new, and embraces traditional as well as contemporary designs in her own work. Her work has won awards in several quilt shows and has been accepted into juried art shows.

Debra lives in Fort Thomas with her husband, David, and their two cats.

Fran Hemmer paints with oil on canvas and likes to capture the play of light and contrast of soft and sharp edges on natural objects.

Influenced mainly by a combination of impressionist and traditional styles, she pays tribute to John Singer Sargent and Frank Duveneck. She enjoys painting dramatic light and forms in a variety of settings including gardens, parks, water reflections, flower arrangements, and human forms.

Fran earned her B.A. in urban planning, an architectural degree, from UC's College of Applied Sciences, and she has studied graphic design at NKU.

She is a signature member of the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati and member of Friends of Baker Hunt.

She was an art educator for Ludlow schools and initiated the volunteer art appreciation programs at St. Joseph School, Crescent Springs, and Notre Dame Urban Education.

Her work has been on display at Frame & Hang Studio, Bellevue, and Ralice Fine Art Gallery, Ft. Mitchell.

Lex Jahne was raised in the hills of Devou Park and has enjoyed being a patron of Behringer-Crawford Museum for the last 30 years. Her father, Bob Reineke, was both on the board of the museum and involved in many fresh art events. This allowed Lex the opportunity to get behind the scenes, meet with artists, and present their pieces at auction as an "art girl". Now an artist herself, she is excited to participate again!
With a material focus on fiber, found objects and natural elements, you will see colors and textures blending unexpectedly. Her current passion is large scale weavings and free-form yarn pieces, affectionately known as Wall Sweaters. Lex's work can be found at galleries, festivals and art fairs throughout the region.

In March 2023, Monica Namyar traveled to Launceston, Tasmania, where she was one of 42 finalists for the Glover Prize, Australia's mot prestigious landscape art prize.

Monica has been an art teacher in Kentucky public schools for 26 years. Her art degrees are from Xavier University, Canberra School of Art in Australia, and University of Cincinnati DAAP. Monica is a potter at heart who also loves to paint!

Painter and sculptor Ken Page studied art as an undergrad and a graduate student. He earned an A.A from Lindsey Wilson College, a B.A from Eastern Kentucky University, and a M.A from Northern Kentucky University.

Ken spent his formative years in rural Kentucky and continues to draw from that experience as he creates new ways of presenting a familiar scene. Combining a rural background with current urban living gives Page's sculpture and painting a unique style.

His work has been featured in dozens of individual and group shows throughout the years, and it can be found in a number of corporate collections around the country.

John Rauch has been a silentART participant for many years. He was a biology teacher for 30 years at Beechwood High School, and after retiring in 2010, started as a docent at BCM and an amateur painter without any art classes or lessons.

Painting landscapes gives John a sense of calmness and an appreciation of nature. All his paintings come from visualization. He paints on canvas board with acrylic paints.

Susan Tomboly worked as a professional web designer and developer before retiring to devote more time to drawing and painting -- her lifelong dream.

She has always enjoyed viewing and creating artwork. Susan holds a degree in graphic design and commercial art from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

She is a nature lover and loves painting what she sees. Susan also enjoys photography, especially scenery, flowers, and animals.

Susan lives in Edgewood, KY, with her husband and three cats, who are often the subjects of her paintings.

Roger VonStrohe lives in Camp Spring, KY, and has been using traditional woodworking tools since the 1970s. He is following in the footsteps of his grandfather who was a cabinetmaker.

After retiring from the Newport school system as an administrator, Roger has been building rocking chairs using traditional tools; hand carving wooden spoons; and making traditional dough bowls using adzes ( bowl carving gouges) and other hand tools. Roger usually donates the bowls and spoons to charitable organizations.

James Wihebrink is a Covington native who has an AB degree in English from Eastern Kentucky University. He taught in Boone County schools for 34 years, coaching varsity football, track, and cross-country while raising three sons with his wife.

Always an avid photographer, he entered the Boone County Fair photo contest, where his work was well-received. From there, James' photography career expanded to include the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea, KY, and the Kentucky Horse Park Center.

Profits from the sale of his photography are donated to charitable organizations, including St. Jude Hospital, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and Fairhaven Rescue Mission, among others.

Artist's biography

Ruthe Wyman is a native of Northern Kentucky and a Florence resident. She graduated from Thomas More University (B.A. in Art), University of Cincinnati (M.A. in Art Education), and Northern Kentucky University (Rank 1). Her first career was teaching art at Williamstown Independent and Grant County High School.

As a professional artist, acrylic painting has always been her preferred medium. She is a member of the Cincinnati Art Museum women's committee, a signature member of the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati, and a member of Boone County Visual Arts Association.

Besides creating, selling, and donating art to benefit local charities, her work has been exhibited at numerous colleges and universities; the Kentucky Capitol Rotunda; Carnegie; Nordheim Gallery; Woman's Art Club Cultural Center; and other galleries, art fairs, and businesses.
