Annie Morris is one of the most celebrated British artists of her generation. Her practice spans sculpture, painting, drawing and tapestry, moving between abstraction and figuration. She is renowned for her sought-after signature 'Stack' sculptures: vertical constellations of richly pigmented forms seemingly balanced against gravity. Conceived during a period of profound personal loss following a stillbirth, 'Stacks' have become affirming symbols of life, hope and resilience, holding vulnerability and strength in exquisite tension. Her luminous thread paintings translate drawing into intricately sewn surfaces, while her paintings and linear figures explore the female form. Morris trained under Giuseppe Penone at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and at London's Slade School of Fine Art. Solo exhibitions include Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Fosun Foundation and Chateau La Coste. Museum and public collections include Fondation Louis Vuitton, National Gallery of Victoria, Kistefos, SMEG Museum, AmorePacific, Jupiter Artland, University of Colorado Art Museum, as well as the Perez, Tisch, Gersch, Obayashi and Ambani collections.
