It was built in 1992 for $40M by disgraced stock trader Robert Brennan as his own private course. Former US Open Champions Johnny Miller and Gene Bates were brought in to design the layout. It's known for its massive horse sculptures, a nod to the fact that it is a working equestrian center. It was sold to Goldman Sachs executive Peter C. Gerhard and John Ferolito, co-founder of Arizona Iced Tea, who owned it for 16 years. Membership was limited to 100 people and initiation fees were reportedly $350,000. In recent years, it has gone through beautiful renovations.

This experience is led by Justin McCarthy, head of the Hopatcong Observatory and Astronomy Club. It includes a brief presentation on the night sky, as well as an astronomy 101, followed by an evening of stargazing with all telescopes and materials provided. This private stargazing party will occur on a mutually agreed-upon date between Justin and your group and will take place at the Hopatcong Observatory.
