Sometimes the simplest thoughts are the most valuable. Fill your home or office with the peace, love, and warmth expressed in these fine works of art, each one hand designed by calligrapher Mark Allyn Kokott. With his degrees in Fine Art and Art History Mark opened two galleries on Castro Street in San Francisco in the early 1970's, soon after the "Summer of Love," when San Francisco became a center of musical and artistic expression as well as political and cultural innovation.

In the Summer of 1984, when the Democratic National Convention was held at the Moscone Center, Mark was commissioned by the city of San Francisco to create original works of calligraphy for Speaker of the House Tip O'Neil and Vice-Presidential Candidate Geraldine Ferraro. Before he succumbed to AIDS-related illness in 1986, Mark Kokott was the official calligrapher to the United Nations.

House of Kokott, which has produced hats for all major fashion labels, including DKNY, Polo/Ralph Lauren, J Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, David Cohen (who was twice named Hat Designer of the Year by the Millinery Information Bureau), and more.

Donna Karan praised the avant-garde styling, unique fabrication, intricate details and custom hand beading of Kokott Millinery to be 'the best thing since Elsa Schiaparelli."

Kokott hats have been worn by supermodels like Kate Moss and Shalom Harlow on DKNY fashion show runways, and custom made for Lady Chablis, from "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."
