The Elijah Craig 21 Year Old Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey returns to market in June 2026 for the first time since 2013, making it the oldest age-stated bourbon currently in production from Heaven Hill. Bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV), this limited release is drawn from one hand-selected barrel that spent 21 years aging at Heaven Hill's Bernheim Distillery (DSP-KY-1) in Louisville, Kentucky. Heaven Hill set aside just 1,789 bottles for the program - a deliberate nod to 1789, the year Reverend Elijah Craig is credited as the first to distill bourbon - with the inaugural release timed to National Bourbon Day on June 14, 2026 at the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience in Bardstown ahead of select retail allocation.
Expect a layered nose of dark caramel, dried fig, polished oak, and baking spice, opening into a palate of toffee, allspice, pipe tobacco, and dark chocolate with a long, slow-fading finish. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
