The founder, Steve Paperno, had a vision to combine the variety of flavors he experienced traveling through Mexico with innovative recipes and his passion for healthy living.

Today, there are 30 restaurants located primarily in Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties. While they continue to develop and look for new opportunities, they never forget their roots. Since 1992, Sharky's has evolved both in style and menu, but the essential spirit and ambience of every restaurant is tied directly to Steve's original vision to bring about change with food.

They are a small farm in Ventura County, focused on working towards natural and organic farming practices. We are home to 80-something animals including Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats, chickens, ducks, dogs, and cats. The goal of Oats & Ivy is to live a life of self-sufficiency, always striving to do better by the earth, the animals, and our neighbors while sharing, learning, and being part of the community.

Their small yet productive garden space rotates crops year round to make the most of the SoCal climate. They grow what they can to feed their family, the animals, and our friends. Organic practices are very important to them. They're establishing new permanent plants constantly. Diversity is what they love about this land and are constantly working to improve it.
