Making a difference with food was the premise behind Sharky's when the first restaurant opened in Sherman Oaks, California in 1992.

The founder, Steve Paperno, had a vision to combine the variety of flavors he experienced traveling through Mexico with innovative recipes and his passion for healthy living.

Today, there are 30 restaurants located primarily in Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties. While they continue to develop and look for new opportunities, they never forget their roots. Since 1992, Sharky's has evolved both in style and menu, but the essential spirit and ambience of every restaurant is tied directly to Steve's original vision to bring about change with food.

Over the past 28 years the Gietzens have built enduring relationships with customers, landlords, vendors, government leaders, employees, etc. Most of their workforce consists of long-term employees, some of whom have been with them since day one. They believe the success they have enjoyed is a direct result of the quality food, service and atmosphere provided at each of our locations. As a family-orientated establishment, they are very dedicated to enhancing and contributing to each community they are a part of. Rod and Yolanda are community leaders and give of themselves and their resources to help others.
